Carrie Silverhorn is an Eastern Shawnee/Irish Artist and Graphic Designer, from Northeast Oklahoma. The Mother of two and Grandmother of one, has been drawn to art and creativity since the age of 2. She was encouraged by her Parents and Grandparents in her artwork all her life. She attended the Institute of Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM as well as NEO A&M College. She obtained her degree in Graphic Arts and opened Dream Keeper Designs, an online design, print and web company. Past accolades have included being chosen as the Winner of the Natural Resources Conservation Service’s American Indian Heritage Month annual art contest for 2011. Hand-selected as the Illustrator for ‘The Story of Our Corn’ for the Eastern Shawnee Tribe in 2016. Each project that is done is a true honor. Especially those that showcase and honor her Shawnee Heritage.
